TikTok agency code or invitation code: the same thing, and it's yours
When people talk about a “TikTok agency code”, they mean the invitation code: a six-character code generated by TikTok for your account. In the process TikTok describes, the agency doesn't give you a code: you give it yours, and it uses that code to send you an invitation. If you're still wondering what an agency is for, start with what a TikTok LIVE agency is and how it works.
The word “code” causes a lot of confusion, and some of it can cost you dearly. The table below sorts it out.
| Code | Where it comes from | What you do with it |
|---|---|---|
| Your invitation code (the “agency code”) | Generated by TikTok, in your app | You give it to the agency you've chosen, and to that agency only |
| Your password | Chosen by you | You never give it to anyone, agencies included |
| A verification code sent by text or email | Sent to confirm a login or a change to your account | You never give it to anyone: it isn't your invitation code |
| A referral code or promo code | A referral scheme or a promotional offer | It never replaces your invitation code |
TikTok also says agencies can use referral programmes to invite creators. In the invitation process it describes, though, it's your code that lets the agency invite you.
Your invitation code is yours to share; your password and your verification codes never are.
Where to find your TikTok agency code in the app
Your invitation code is in the TikTok app, in the LIVE area for creators. Here's the usual path:
- Update the app, so you have the latest screens.
- Open Creator tools (in Settings and privacy), then LIVE Center.
- Tap Join an agency, then How to take part?
- Your six-character code appears: copy it exactly as shown and send it in writing to the agency, through its official channel.
The path can vary depending on your version of the app. TikTok's official page on agency invitations goes through the Agency Center: Settings and privacy > Creator tools > LIVE Center > Agency Center. It also has a button that opens the Agency Center in TikTok so you can get your code. To tell the two screens apart:
| Screen | What you'll find there |
|---|---|
| Join an agency > How to take part? | Your six-character invitation code |
| Agency Center | Your code, according to TikTok's official page, and the invitations agencies send you |
Both are inside the LIVE Center, so that's where to start.
On some versions, creators say they reach these screens from TikTok Studio, and other guides online mention a “Creator Network Center”: these are variants, not the path given on TikTok's official page. If you can't find anything there, go back to the LIVE Center.
Who does what with your code: you, the agency, then you again
The process TikTok describes comes down to three steps, and two of them are yours.
- You: you pass on your code. You get your invitation code and give it to the agency. Our advice: give it to one agency only, the one you've chosen after asking your questions.
- The agency: it sends the invitation from LIVE Backstage. An agent uses your code to invite you. Backstage is open only to agencies registered with TikTok LIVE and their authorised team members: according to TikTok, creators can't access it on their own. So you can't invite yourself with your code.
- You: you read, check and accept. The invitation usually arrives under Settings and privacy > Creator tools > LIVE Center > Agency Center. Before accepting, check that the name shown is the agency you've been talking to. If you don't recognise it, don't accept.
This is the process set out on TikTok's page about agency invitations: “An agent will use your invitation code to initiate an invitation”.
Once you accept, your account is linked to the agency, which tracks your LIVE performance in Backstage. Choosing the agency comes before that: comparing, asking questions, applying. It's all covered in our guide to joining a TikTok LIVE agency step by step.
TikTok agency code scams: what no one should ever ask you for
Your invitation code is all an agency needs to invite you. Anything else you're asked for should set alarm bells ringing.
| You're asked… | What to make of it |
|---|---|
| For your TikTok password | Say no. TikTok says it will never ask for your password by email (Creator Academy security FAQs), and an agency doesn't need it to invite you |
| For a code sent by text or email, presented as your “agency code” | Say no: it's a verification code for your account, not your invitation code |
| To pay to “activate” your code or confirm your sign-up | That's not the model TikTok describes, where the agency is paid by TikTok |
| To click a link sent by direct message that opens a login page | Say no: the invitation is read and accepted in the TikTok app |
| To accept right away, “before tonight” | Take the time to check: a reputable agency will welcome your questions |
Other pitfalls (a share of your diamonds, earnings paid into someone else's account, gifts bought outside TikTok) are listed in the red flags to watch for when joining an agency.
Be wary, too, of an agency that presents itself as appointed, sponsored or endorsed by TikTok. TikTok states that agencies are independent third-party businesses that it neither endorses nor sponsors, and that it takes no responsibility for their business activities or conduct. The accurate wording is “agency approved by TikTok LIVE” or “agency with access to LIVE Backstage”.
On the money side, TikTok says agencies have access to incentive programmes that earn them monthly bonuses. If an agency mentions fees or a share of your earnings, that's not the model TikTok describes: ask in writing what justifies it, before any invitation. To find out what to check, read how much a TikTok LIVE agency takes and who pays what.
Already given out your password or a code sent by text? Change your password straight away, from the app, and stop replying to whoever asked you for it.
Can’t find the Agency Center or “Join an agency”?
First, a caveat: TikTok doesn't publish the conditions under which the Agency Center appears. The thresholds that get passed around for “unlocking” the agency screen don't come from an official page.
| What TikTok publishes | What TikTok doesn't publish |
|---|---|
| You must be 18 to go LIVE | The conditions for seeing the Agency Center or “Join an agency” |
| You need 1,000 followers to go LIVE, a threshold that can vary by region | A follower count that would unlock access to agencies |
| The process: your code, the invitation sent by an agent, your acceptance in the Agency Center | How long your invitation code stays valid |

If the screen doesn't appear, try these in order:
- Update the app, then close it and open it again.
- Check the age declared on your account: age is one of the requirements for going LIVE, and your account should show your real date of birth.
- Check you're using your own account, the one you go LIVE on.
- Ask the agency: it knows these screens and can tell you what to look for. That doesn't mean it needs your login details to “check” for you.
The LIVE requirements themselves (age, followers, age verification, restrictions) are covered in our guide to TikTok LIVE requirements.
Already with an agency: can you give your code to another one?
Yes, you can talk to a new agency and pass on your code, but you won't be able to join it while your account is linked to your current agency: you have to leave first.
TikTok publishes no official procedure and no timelines: check in your Agency Center what applies to your account. If it's Streamline you want to join, tell us when you apply and we'll explain what to do.
In practice, for your code:
- you can already talk to the new agency, ask your questions and pass on your code;
- wait until your Agency Center lets you accept a new invitation: that's when the new agency invites you from LIVE Backstage;
- TikTok doesn't publish how long a code stays valid: get it again when the invitation is about to be sent, rather than sending a code you noted down weeks earlier.
What Streamline does with a creator's invitation code
Streamline Agency is a TikTok LIVE gaming agency that won awards from TikTok LIVE in 2025 and in 2026. It recruits creators from the FR+ zone (France and French-speaking countries), Germany and Switzerland; outside these regions, it does not recruit. Membership is free, with no commitment, and commission is 0%: creators keep 100% of their earnings. Streamline is paid by TikTok, through the incentive programmes reserved for agencies.
For creators in these eligible regions, here's what happens to their code at Streamline:
- The code goes to Streamline's Discord bot: creators send it from the Join section of Streamline's website, and the bot completes their application.
- They choose an onboarding session, which is mandatory and lasts one hour: Monday, Wednesday or Friday at 7 pm (Paris time).
- The code waits for the staff's review. A member of staff reviews the application and gets back to the creator: applications are processed within 48 hours, and only approval by the staff counts.
- Once the application is approved, Streamline uses the code to invite the creator from LIVE Backstage.
- The creator accepts the invitation in their Agency Center, after checking that it really comes from Streamline.
At no stage does Streamline ask for a password, a code sent by text or a payment.

Frequently asked questions
Where do I find my TikTok agency code?
In the app, usually under Creator tools > LIVE Center > Join an agency > How to take part? Your six-character invitation code is shown there. The path can vary depending on your version; TikTok's official page goes through the Agency Center (Settings and privacy > Creator tools > LIVE Center > Agency Center).
Where do I enter the code an agency gave me on TikTok?
In the process TikTok describes, there's no agency code for you to enter: it works the other way round. You give your own invitation code to the agency, and an agent uses it to send the invitation from LIVE Backstage. You then read the invitation in your Agency Center and accept it. If an agency gives you a code to type in, ask what it's for: it isn't your invitation code.
Does a TikTok agency code cost anything?
No. You get your invitation code in the TikTok app, and accepting the invitation costs nothing. If someone charges you for an “agency code” or for activating it, you've left the process TikTok describes, where the agency is paid by TikTok. At Streamline, membership is free and commission is 0%.
Does giving out my invitation code give someone access to my account?
No. Your code only lets an agency send you an invitation, which you're free to accept or not. It doesn't replace your password or a verification code, and it can't be used to log in to your account. If you accept, the agency tracks your LIVE performance in Backstage, but that doesn't give it your login details.
How long does my TikTok agency code stay valid?
TikTok doesn't publish a validity period, and the precise durations that circulate don't come from an official page. To be safe, get your code when the agency is ready to invite you. If the invitation doesn't arrive, ask the agency and, if needed, get your code again and send it once more.
I haven't received the agency's invitation. What should I do?
Check that you sent the exact six characters, update the app, then look in your Agency Center, inside the LIVE Center. Next, ask the agency whether the invitation has actually gone out, and under what name. If you're still stuck, get your code again in the app and send it once more.
I'm already with an agency. Can I give my code to another one?
You can pass it on and prepare your move, but you won't be able to join while your account is linked to your current agency: start by requesting to leave, from the app. TikTok publishes no official timelines; the ones that circulate should be checked in your Agency Center. The new agency will invite you once your Agency Center lets you accept a new invitation: give it your code again at that point.
Why don’t I have “Join an agency” on TikTok?
TikTok doesn't publish the conditions for this screen or the Agency Center to appear. What it does publish are the requirements for going LIVE: being 18, and having 1,000 followers, a threshold that can vary by region. Update the app, check the age declared on your account and ask the agency what to look for.
